Wood4Good is a growing Vermont nonprofit providing free firewood to families in need while bringing people together through volunteer service.

We are seeking a hands-on Operations & Volunteer Manager to lead our woodlot operations and, most importantly, the hundreds of volunteers who make our work possible.

Key Responsibilities

Lead volunteer workdays and community service events

Welcome, train and supervise volunteers while creating a safe, positive experience

Develop experienced volunteers into team leaders

Organize daily woodlot workflow and firewood production

Operate and maintain our firewood processor, skid steer, excavator, splitters and other equipment

Coordinate loading, deliveries and firewood inventory

Maintain a safe, organized and productive woodlot

Assist with operations at Wood4Good’s growing network of Vermont locations

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who enjoys leading people and isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty.

The ideal candidate has experience leading volunteers, crews or teams; strong communication and organizational skills; mechanical aptitude; and experience operating equipment. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors year-round and performing physical work.

A valid driver’s license and good driving record are required. CDL and nonprofit experience are helpful but not required.

This is a full-time position based primarily at our Jericho woodlot, with some evening/weekend volunteer events and occasional travel within Vermont.

Salary, Benefits, and a 40 hour work week.
