VP, Membership & Chapter Development | The WICT Network

The Vice President of Membership & Chapter Development is a strategic executive leader responsible for growing and retaining membership, strengthening chapter engagement, and expanding corporate investment in The WICT Network. The VP will lead initiatives that activate chapter leaders as membership growth ambassadors, increase member value and retention, and demonstrate the measurable impact of membership to corporate partners. This role is accountable for developing and executing strategies that drive membership acquisition, renewal, engagement, and chapter performance across the organization's global network.

Responsibilities

Membership

Own and execute a comprehensive membership growth strategy focused on acquisition, engagement, renewal, and retention.

Serves as a spokesperson for The WICT Network’s member benefits.

Implements cutting-edge benefit offerings to increase member value.

Establishes and monitors membership KPIs and goals, including chapter growth, member engagement, retention rates, renewal rates, corporate participation, and member lifetime value.

Analyzes industry and membership trends and data to identify risks and opportunities and implement proactive interventions to improve membership performance.

Develops data-driven strategies and reporting that enable employers to measure participation, engagement, retention, and professional development outcomes among their employees.

Partners with corporate stakeholders, talent leaders, HR teams, and industry executives to increase organizational investment in employee membership and chapter participation.

Creates compelling membership value propositions and engagement strategies that drive increased corporate sponsorship, membership enrollment, and renewal.

Identifies and cultivates relationships with organizations that would benefit from a dedicated company membership enrollment and renewal portal, increasing ease of administration, member participation, and renewal rates.

Serves as the primary relationship manager for corporate membership portal partners, providing regular reporting on membership enrollment, renewal activity, participation trends, demographics, and related billing administration.

Develops scalable engagement models that translate member participation into long-term membership retention.

Develops and deploys membership marketing campaigns in coordination with the Marketing & Communications department.

Chapter Development

Develops long- and short-term strategies and goals to strengthen and grow membership and chapter network.

Establishes accountability frameworks, metrics, and best practices that enable chapters to consistently achieve membership and engagement goals.

Travels to chapter events and meetings to serve as The WICT Network’s ambassador, articulating the organization’s mission and membership benefits to its members and prospects, including speaking at chapter programs and award ceremonies.

Upholds positive relations between individual chapters and the global organization.

Coaches and inspires volunteer chapter leadership teams to become active ambassadors, recruiters, and advocates for The WICT Network.

Evaluates and collaborates with Chapters on geographic and company partner reach within their footprint, making adjustments to ensure the long-term vitality of the Chapters.

Identifies needs and areas for chapter expansion; works with chapters in formation to ensure successful launch.

Identifies high-performing chapter strategies and replicate successful practices across the network.

Maintains and refines recognition and incentive programs that encourage innovation and excellence among chapter leaders, including the Model Chapter Business Plan.

Department Management & Other Responsibilities

Creates a vision and goals for the department aligned with stated organizational goals and outcomes.

Works across department lines to create collaborative approaches to enhance membership growth and retention.

Creates an annual budget based on department needs and goals. Monitors department financial results compared to budget throughout the year.

Manages the Future Leader Board.

Requirements:

Ten+ years’ experience in membership and/or chapter leadership in a non-profit, member-driven organization, or relevant industry experience coupled with familiarity with membership organizations.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Operational skills required to lead a team and improve processes.

Extensive travel and public speaking required.

Ability to carry forth the organization’s mission in a highly professional manner.

Position offers a hybrid schedule with 3+ days per week required in the office in Rosslyn, VA. Incumbent must be located in the Washington, DC/Northern Virginia/Maryland area.
