Cybersecurity Monitoring & Response Analyst - Mid Level

Overview

In this role you will monitor, detect, and respond to security events to protect USAA's operations and members. You'll work within a security operations framework to investigate anomalies, perform moderately complex analyses, and help improve detection capabilities. You'll collaborate with cross functional teams to understand threats and communicate findings to stakeholders. This role offers hands-on experience across forensics, networking, and security tooling in a mission driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor networks, systems, and applications for security events and anomalies
• Assist in incident response with basic analysis using security tooling
• Conduct routine vulnerability management and security configuration assessments
• Support documentation of incident findings and escalation of issues
• Contribute to improving detection capabilities based on incident findings
• Provide support to teammates on escalated issues
• Ensure risk controls align with policies and procedures

Key requirements

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant education/experience
• 2 years of information security/cybersecurity/IT security experience
• 1 year in one of Security and Risk Management, Asset Security, Security Architecture and Engineering, Communications and Network Security, IAM, Security Assessment and Testing, Security Operations, or Software Development Security
• Availability for non-standard hours including holidays and weekends
• Developing business acumen in risk management and industry practices
